What is the Istanbul Museum Pass?

The Museum Pass Istanbul is a card that gives entry to 13+ museums and historical sites for 5 consecutive days. It costs about 1500 TL and includes Topkapi Palace, Harem, Archaeological Museums, Chora Church, and several other sites.

Is It Worth Buying?

If you plan to visit 3 or more included museums, the pass saves money. Topkapi Palace alone costs 750 TL, the Harem section 500 TL. Just those two make the pass worthwhile. The skip-the-line benefit at some venues adds extra value during busy periods.

What is NOT Included

Hagia Sophia, Galata Tower, Basilica Cistern, Dolmabahçe Palace, and private museums are NOT included. These require separate tickets.

Where to buy the Museum Pass?

Buy online at muze.gen.tr or at any included museum's ticket office. The 5-day countdown starts from first use.

The Istanbul Museum Pass covers Topkapi Palace, Hagia Irene, the Archaeological Museum, and several others. At around 1500 TL, it pays for itself if you visit 3+ museums. The biggest advantage is skipping ticket queues which can be very long.

I saved at least 2 hours of total queue time with the Museum Pass on my last visit. Worth it for Topkapi Palace alone where the regular queue can be 45+ minutes during peak season.
